McKinleyville Municipal Advisory Committee (MMAC) Unanimously Opposes Rent Control
On January 21, 2015 the committee voted 6-0 to oppose rent control. All committee members present were unanimous in their opposition to rent control.
What is the MMAC?
The MMAC is comprised of seven volunteers who reside, own property or conduct a business in the greater McKinleyville area.
The MMAC is tasked with gathering input from the community and commenting on matters of concern which relate to county services provided to the greater McKinleyville area including but not limited to public works, health, safety, welfare and public financing.
"Committee members said they were concerned about potential conflicts, costs and the unintended consequences of a rent stabilization ordinance. The advisory committee’s recommendation against the proposal will be forwarded to the county Board of Supervisors..."
